Garden Tips for the Summer
Preventing unwanted guests in the garden
Regular spraying every 10 to 20 days with Neem Oil & Rimulgan significantly reduces the population and damage caused by the respective caterpillars. Neem Oil & Rimulgan is non-toxic to the natural predators of the caterpillars, such as house sparrows, great tits and wasps.
Our mildew combi pack plus is also a very good choice for most of these problems! In addition to neem oil and rimulgan, it also contains the plant strengthening agent liver moss and the basic substance sodium carbonate. When used together, these components not only help against voracious insects, but also against dreaded fungal diseases and bacterial infections.
Tip on frequency of application:
- The warmer and damper the climate, the more frequently the application should be repeated.
- If it is cool and dry, 1 to 2 applications per month are sufficient.
- However, if it is warm and humid, you should carry out 3 to 4 applications.
Stinging & biting insects
Due to the relatively humid summer, there are significantly more biting and stinging insects in most regions this year.
Neol Human Protect Spray and the skin oil "Coco Niem" help to repel them in a natural way. And we also have corresponding sprays and concentrates for dogs and horses in our range.
Our organic smoke coils are also tried and tested for outdoor use.
Uninvited Guests in the Home
Ants, cockroaches, flies, fleas, silverfish, woodlice and bedbugs are just a few examples of the pests that can cause us problems in the home, especially in summer.
We have a whole range of natural products in our range that make your home uninteresting to these annoying creatures:

Grass Mites and Autumn Mites
Due to the relatively high levels of humidity in many regions of Germany over the course of the year to date, autumn and grass mites are also present in excessive numbers. With the prospect of increasingly warm and dry periods, these tiny mites will once again cause unbearable itching for both humans and our pets.
Preventing grass mites in the garden
To prevent the little beasts, you should keep meadows and lawns short, sprinkle them with ground neem seeds and then water them well. Alternatively, you can also sprinkle neem press cake or spray neem oil & rimulgan. The active ingredients of neem repel these animals. Areas with a high population of mites should ideally be treated every 4 to 6 weeks.
Keep grass mites away from people and relieve itching
Repellents with neem oil, such as our Neol Human Protect or the skin oil Coco Niem, have proven to be an effective protection against mite bites when travelling or in the countryside. Even if you have already been bitten, cosmetic neem products can help to relieve the itching. We particularly recommend our Ayurveda skin cream Kailas Jeevan from India.
The products mentioned can also be used against other stinging and biting insects!
Keeping grass mites away from pets
Pets are not spared from the grass mite either. In this case, we recommend using NEOL Dog Deo or NEOL Coat Care Spray. Skin and fur that has already been affected can be treated with NEOL Neem Care Ointment or Neem Balm for pets to alleviate the symptoms.
By the way: we also offer Neol Deo Spray and Concentrate for horses!
